1. To take after 在相貌或性格方面像（某人）

If Alex took after his father he’d be a real handsome guy.
要是亚历克斯长得像他爸爸，他会是个帅小伙。

I took after my father where character is concerned.
就性格方面而言，我像我爸爸。

2. To take against 开始不喜欢，讨厌

I took against him at first sight.
第一次见面我就讨厌他了。

Everybody seems to take against him.
大家似乎都不喜欢他。

3. To take away 从···拿去，移走

The reference books must not be taken away (from the library).
参考书不能（从图书馆）拿走。

The police took the protestors away.
警察把抗议者带走了。

使（某种感情或感觉）消失

Nothing seems to take away your appetite.
似乎什么也不会让你倒胃口。

The doctor has given her some tablets to take away the pain.

4. To take back 退回，归还

I took your book back.

5. To take down

取下，拿下

People take down their Christmas decorations after Christmas.
圣诞节过后人们都把圣诞装饰物取了下来。

写下，记下

The police took down his answers to their questions.
警察记下了他对他们问题的回答。

6. To take off（飞机等）起飞

The flight for Dublin took off on time.
飞往都伯林的飞机准时起飞。

请假，休假

How many days will people take off during the Thanksgiving Day season?
感恩节期间人们会休几天假？

7. To take on 同意做（工作等）；承担，接受

She took on the task of proofreading the book.
她接受了这本书的校对工作。

I’ll take you on in a game of badminton.
我要和你比赛一场羽毛球。
